The formulas reference published standards, but the App produces estimates for trade-professional use, not certified code submittals. For Manual J residential load submittals, use ACCA-certified software like Wrightsoft or Cool Calc. For NEC code review, defer to your local AHJ.
R-410A, R-32, R-454B, R-22. Saturation tables are baked from manufacturer P-T cards. Linear interpolation for any temperature or pressure within range. If you need a refrigerant we don’t support, email us — we prioritize requests from active users.
Point the camera at the unit’s data plate — or type the model number. PlateScan decodes nominal tonnage and refrigerant from the manufacturer’s model nomenclature (Trane, Goodman, York, Rheem, Lennox, Carrier and family brands) and autofills the right calculator. It runs fully offline, and you confirm every decoded value before it’s used. It’s a typing-saver for legible plates, not a miracle decoder for destroyed ones.
On any result screen, tap Save Job. Name it (e.g. Mall Unit 4 — Charge Check) and pick a category. Free tier saves up to 2 at a time; Pro is unlimited.
Toggle on in Settings → iCloud Sync. Saved jobs sync via your private iCloud container — PLAYRIOT cannot read them. Background sync runs automatically; tap a job on either device to see the latest version.
Yes — Pro feature. Open a saved job, tap Share → PDF. Generates a branded PDF with the job name, all input values, the calculated result, and the standard cited for the formula. Hand it to a customer for an estimate or attach to a code submittal.
Local saved jobs are removed. If you had iCloud Sync enabled, jobs in your iCloud container persist until you remove them from iCloud or use Settings → Data → Delete All Saved Jobs in-app before uninstalling.
Switch in Settings. Imperial is the default. Metric covers most international units — kW, L/s, m³/h, °C, kPa, bar. Every calculator follows the global setting; you can override per-calc.
The light theme is tuned for high contrast in outdoor service work. Dark mode flips automatically with your iOS setting if you prefer it on a rooftop at dusk. Dynamic Type and big numerals make the result screen readable one-handed in gloves.
Yes. All calculations are local on your device — no internet required. The only network access is StoreKit verifying your Pro subscription and (if enabled) iCloud syncing your saved jobs.
Yes. Native iPad layout with split-view support. The tech in the truck on iPhone and the supervisor on iPad see the same iCloud-synced jobs.

iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → HVAC Pro → Cancel. You’ll retain Pro access until the end of the current period.
On the paywall, tap Restore Purchases. You must be signed in with the same Apple ID that originally subscribed.
All purchases go through Apple. Refund requests must be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t process refunds directly.
