Privacy Policy

PLAYRIOT LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HVAC Pro Calculator mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

The short version: calculations run on your device. The app attempts to sync saved jobs through your private iCloud when available, without an in-app sync switch. PLAYRIOT cannot browse that private database in its developer console. If you use feedback or contact support, we receive the information described below. No advertising or cross-app tracking.

1. About HVAC Pro Calculator

HVAC Pro Calculator is a professional calculator for HVAC technicians, refrigeration techs, electricians, and contractors. It computes BTU/cooling loads, duct sizing, voltage drop, refrigerant pressure-temperature, superheat/subcooling, sheet metal offsets, and unit conversions. All calculations are performed locally on your device.

2. Information We Collect

No separate app account. You can calculate without creating a PLAYRIOT account. Optional feedback and support can send information to us; saved jobs are not sent to our feedback server.

Calculation data. All saved jobs (named records of your inputs, results, refrigerant selections, voltage drop calculations, etc.) are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.

Private iCloud storage. On a normal launch, the app first attempts to open a SwiftData store backed by your private CloudKit database. Sync depends on your Apple ID, device settings, iCloud availability and storage. There is no iCloud Sync switch inside the app. Apple manages the private database; its records are not visible in PLAYRIOT's developer console. Opening a cloud-backed store does not confirm a completed sync.

Subscription state. Whether you have an active HVAC Pro entitlement, derived from Apple's StoreKit. Apple handles the actual payment — we never see your payment details.

PlateScan (Pro). PlateScan processes data-plate photos entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Images are not uploaded anywhere and are not retained after the scan is confirmed or discarded.

Optional feedback and support. PLAYRIOT Listens can send your message, optional email and screenshots, app version and build, OS version, device model, locale, subscription tier, and a persistent feedback device identifier to PLAYRIOT. Bug reports can include a diagnostic log excerpt. Do not include private customer details. The identifier supports votes and reply delivery; after feedback engagement, the current feedback component can check for replies. We use this information to handle feedback and support. Contact support to request access or deletion of information you sent.

3. What We Don't Collect

• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No analytics SDKs — not Firebase, not Mixpanel, not Amplitude.
• Saved job records are not automatically uploaded to PLAYRIOT's feedback server.
• No location, contacts, or health data access. Camera and voice permissions are described below.
• We do not sell your information.

4. How We Use Your Information

• All calculations are performed entirely on your device.
• Saved jobs use local storage and may sync to your private iCloud database when available.
• Subscription status is verified with Apple's StoreKit on launch.

5. Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. We receive only subscription status confirmation. We do not have access to your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID password.

Apple iCloud / CloudKit. The app attempts private iCloud storage automatically. Apple's privacy policy governs that service. Availability on another device requires the same Apple ID and working iCloud sync; it is not a shared team database.

6. Device Permissions

PlateScan requests camera access when you use scanning. Speak to Fill requests microphone and speech-recognition permission when you use voice input, and requires on-device speech recognition. You can type calculator inputs without granting those permissions. StoreKit, iCloud, optional feedback, and links you open may use the network.

7. Data Storage and Deletion

Saved jobs are normally stored on your device and may also exist in your private iCloud. If both cloud-backed and local storage fail to open, the current app can fall back to temporary memory: jobs in that mode do not survive closing the app. Do not rely on that mode as a backup. Deleting the app does not erase your iCloud records. The in-app Delete All Saved Jobs action in Settings → Data requests deletion from the active store. Cloud deletion depends on successful saving and syncing; it is not an immediate guarantee that every device or cloud copy is erased. Contact support if data remains. Deleting jobs does not delete feedback you previously sent us.

8. Children's Privacy

HVAC Pro Calculator is not directed at children. The App is intended for professional and adult users in the HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical trades.

9. EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object to processing. Saved jobs are managed on your device and through Apple iCloud. For information you sent through feedback or support, or to make a formal request, email support@playriot.co. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
